'RUBBISH'POSTCARDS
This collection of images were all taken through a bin, the entrance and exit becoming a frame for what can be seen through it. The bin as an object is incredibly telling – if you were to take an aerial view of a city and map out where the majority of bins were, you’d simultaneously have discovered the most populated areas. Because they are strategically placed nearer bus stops say, in parks, or touristic areas - it often means they have the best view of the bustling life going on around it. Conceptually I like the paradoxical nature of a bin as a frame for the world; this place where people go to discard their waste and unwanted things also acts as a window to the beauty of that very same world.
